Antelope Canyon, located just a few minutes from Page, AZ is a truly inspiring place. While visiting the Colorado Plateau make sure you take the time to visit. I go as often as I can to this mysterious place, which constantly changes with the seasons and flash floods. Travelers used to be allowed into the Canyon without a guide. This practice is long gone. One must use one of the authorized guides or the Navaho that operate Upper or Lower Antelope. My wife and I went our first time with Roger Ekis of Photographic Tours because he is a photographer himself and specializes in taking photographers trough the slots. I have been going through Upper and Lower Antelope with Roger ever since. His personable nature, photographic knowledge and willingness to help makes him one of the best. Check out Roger's Site if you get a chance. The last trip I made I wanted to capture a 360º view of Upper and Lower Antelope. I wanted to do it with a Digital Camera but I have not found a camera that gives me the flexibility of my SLR's, so I took six shots with my T90 and a 14mm rectilinear lens. I then had the slides transferred to PhotoCD. Using PhotoVista from Live Picture I seamlessly stitched all the images together. Recently I purchased a Polaroid Sprintscan 35 Plus and have been getting better results than standard PhotoCD's. Attempting to capture what Antelope feels like is difficult . Nowadays Upper Antelope is as busy as a New York Subway platform, only smaller, it is becoming increasingly difficult to relax and enjoy oneself. I always come up short! But that always leaves next time...... The following is a vrml image I created while standing near the back of the first chamber.
